Neste perodo foi criado o Prolcool * poder incentivar a produo de lcool por meio de biomassas, isto tudo ocorreu devido ecloso da crise energtica onde os preos das fontes energticas se elevaram, transformando o etanol uma das principais alternativas mundiais. Este livro busca avaliar a produo de etanol a partir do suco de caju por via fermentativa, onde os microrganismos transformaram os aucares do suco em etanol e gs carbono. Avaliou-se o suco de caju como fonte de acares * a produo de etanol pela cepa da levedura do gnero Saccharomyces. Os resultados obtidos foram bastante satisfatrios. A concentrao inicial de substrato utilizada foi a de 90 g.L-1. A esta concentrao o modelo cintico conseguiu chegar os resultados prximos dos dados experimentais. Logo, o estudo proposto neste trabalho pode-se concluir que o uso do suco de caju * a produo de etanol trar benefcios econmicos, pois este substrato utilizado de baixo custo e muito encontrado em solos nordestinos.
