ART Direct Boxes dPDB Editorial Review
The ART dPDB 2-channel Passive Direct Box is a heavy-duty and well-built device. It is primarily used to interface electric guitars or computer audio outputs to microphone inputs on pre-amps/mixers. It can also be used to connect unbalanced equipment to balanced lines. The unit has an attenuator switch to handle line level inputs. It is not designed to eliminate RF noise. The dPDB can accept speaker level inputs, allowing post-amplifier and post EQ signals to be directly fed to the console. It has two inputs, with one intended for routing the input signal to another device. The unit can also be used in reverse to turn a balanced signal into an unbalanced one. Overall, the ART dPDB is highly recommended for its durability and functionality.
