What is the benefit of using high-temp powder-coated calipers for my Honda?

High-temp powder-coated calipers, like the Power Stop Front S1379, offer superior heat resistance, ensuring consistent brake performance under high-stress conditions. The powder coating also provides an added layer of protection against rust and corrosion, which enhances the lifespan of your calipers. Ideal for performance driving or heavy usage scenarios, these calipers maintain aesthetics while providing improved efficiency. Enthusiasts and daily drivers alike will appreciate the reliable stopping power they deliver in various driving situations.

Will these calipers fit my Honda CRX 1990?

Yes, the Power Stop Front S1379 calipers are specifically designed for the Honda CRX models from 1990 to 1991. This ensures a precise fit that meets or exceeds factory specifications. By upgrading to these high-performance calipers, you can enhance your braking system. Whether you're on the road or racing, the right fit guarantees optimal braking efficiency, making your driving experience safer and more enjoyable.

Are these calipers suitable for high-performance driving?

Absolutely! The Power Stop Front S1379 calipers are engineered for high-performance driving. They provide enhanced braking capabilities, essential for aggressive driving styles or track use. Their high-temperature resilience ensures that they perform reliably when subjected to extreme conditions, reducing the risk of brake fade. For drivers who participate in motorsports or who frequently engage in spirited driving, these calipers are a significant upgrade to improve overall performance and safety.

Do I need to replace the brake pads when installing new calipers?

It’s highly recommended to replace brake pads when installing new calipers like the Power Stop Front S1379. New calipers can work best with new pads to ensure optimal contact and braking efficiency. Pairing old pads with new calipers may lead to uneven wear, decreased performance, and increased noise. For the best results, consider installing both components simultaneously to maximize your braking system's performance and lifespan.

How do I maintain my powder-coated calipers?

Maintaining your Power Stop Front S1379 calipers is straightforward and primarily involves regular inspections. Check for any signs of wear, rust, or damage during your routine vehicle maintenance. If you notice any build-up of grime or brake dust, a gentle wash with soap and water can help keep them clean and functioning properly. Regularly inspecting ensures they continue performing effectively and helps you spot issues early before they become more significant problems.

What colors are available for the Power Stop calipers?

The Power Stop Front S1379 calipers are specifically available in a striking high-temp red powder-coated finish. This color not only adds an aggressive and sporty look to your vehicle but also signifies the high-performance nature of the product. While red is highly popular for various performance applications, Power Stop offers a range of caliper colors across different models, allowing you to choose one that best fits your vehicle's aesthetic.

Do I need special tools to install the calipers?

Installing the Power Stop Front S1379 calipers does require some specific tools, including a socket set, brake line wrench, and a torque wrench for optimal installation. It is also advisable to have access to a jack and jack stands for vehicle elevation. Proper installation ensures the best performance and safety of your brake system. For those with mechanical skills, this can be done at home, or you can opt to have a professional perform the installation for peace of mind.

Can these calipers improve my vehicle's stopping power?

Yes, the Power Stop Front S1379 calipers are designed to significantly improve your vehicle's stopping power. Their advanced design not only enhances safety but also elevates your vehicle's overall performance. The use of high-quality materials and precision engineering means better heat management and less brake fade, especially useful in stop-and-go traffic or performance scenarios. This upgrade is particularly beneficial for those looking to enhance their vehicle's braking efficiency and responsiveness.

What makes Power Stop calipers different from OEM calipers?

Power Stop calipers like the S1379 differ from OEM calipers primarily in their performance capabilities and materials. They are designed with a focus on high-temperatures, making them suitable for higher performance and heavy-duty usage. Unlike standard OEM options, these calipers offer a powder-coated finish to resist corrosion and enhance aesthetic appeal. This means better durability and improved performance, especially for drivers seeking an upgrade from standard braking systems.
