Silva Compasses 33638 Editorial Review
The Ranger Global Compass US is highly regarded among customers as one of the best compasses available. Users appreciate its durability and accuracy, as well as the fact that it is not reliant on batteries or electronics. One customer even mentioned that the compass was replaced when a bubble appeared, indicating good customer service from the company. However, there were a couple of minor gripes mentioned in the reviews. One customer suggested that the lanyard could be connected better, while another mentioned that the packaging was opened when they received it. These issues seem to be minor and do not detract from the overall positive reception of the product. One common complaint was regarding the luminosity of the needle marking in the dark. Some users felt that it was too faint to be seen properly, especially compared to the well-illuminated reference points on the compass housing. This could be a drawback for those who plan to use the compass for wayfinding at night. Overall, the Ranger Global Compass US is highly recommended for its durability, accuracy, and simplicity. It is particularly praised for its non-liquid-filled design and the fact that it Consistently points north. Whether you are teaching orienteering to children or need a reliable compass for your outdoor adventures, this compass is a great choice.
