Oceansize Format: Audio CD Britain Editorial Review
**** Oceansize's 'Everyone Into Position' marks a significant achievement in the band’s artistic journey, showcasing a blend of melodic prog rock with inventive rhythms and harmonies. Fans and newcomers alike appreciate the album's masterful composition and the band's ability to maintain high standards throughout, despite attempts to make their sound more accessible. Listeners initially find the album intriguing yet challenging, often requiring patience to fully appreciate its layered intricacies and profound musical architecture. As many reviews indicate, tracks like "Charm Offensive" and "New Pin" exemplify the band’s knack for combining heavy guitar-driven soundscapes with ethereal melodies, making them optimal choices for both avid fans of progressive rock and mainstream audiences. This duality renders the music stimulating without compromising its catchiness. Critics have used terms like "lush," "intricate," and "mesmerizing" to describe the album, lauding its ability to deliver a full-bodied sonic experience that is both atmospheric and grounded in rock traditions. The album flows seamlessly from heavy, distortion-laden tracks to softer, airy pieces, ensuring that each moment keeps the listener engaged. Some assert that Oceansize should receive more recognition in a music landscape filled with lesser-quality acts; many agree that the album represents a creative high point that encourages anticipation for future releases. In conclusion, 'Everyone Into Position' stands as a brilliant amalgamation of thoughtful songwriting, intricate soundscapes, and appealing rock elements, solidifying Oceansize's reputation as a key player in the genre. **
